Create a single Jira work item in Confluence

You can use the Create Jira work item macro to create a work item directly from Confluence, without switching applications.
To create a single Jira work item in Confluence:
  1. While editing your Confluence page, type /Jira and select Create Jira work item.
  2. In the Create new work item window, input all the data you need to create your work item (like summary and description) and make sure you select the correct site, project, and work type.
  3. Select Create and see your new work item now linked on your Confluence page.
👇 This is how the create new work item dialog will display.

Use existing content to create multiple Jira work items

Users can create several Jira work items directly from content in Confluence, utilizing information on the page for work item fields, like a summary.
To create a work item from content in Confluence:
  1. While viewing a page, highlight a line of text.
  2. Select + Create work item.
  3. Input all the work item details and select Create to create a single work item. If you already linked an epic on the page, you can link it with the new work item.
To create multiple work items from a table in Confluence:
  1. While viewing a page, highlight a line of text in a table.
  2. Select + Create work item from the pop up dialog.
  3. Select Create multiple work item from table to use content from the table to create multiple work items.
  4. Confirm the site, project, and work type.
  5. Select the column in the table for the work item summary and the column for the work item description, then select Create.
👇 Here’s how the dialog box appears to create single or multiple work items.
A Confluence screenshot with a table shows the dialog box for creating multiple issues at one time from existing table data.
The page updates with the work item links in the background, once Jira creates the work items.

Users must have permission to edit pages in the Confluence space and create work items in the Jira project to create work items in this way.
