10 min

By the end of this lesson, you'll be able to:

  • Interpret Rovo configuration and activity using the Audit log
  • Check Rovo usage statistics using Analytics
  • Review Rovo credits and app usage in Platform usage

Monitor Rovo user and admin activity using the Audit log

The Audit log tracks all Rovo-related activity across your organization. Use it as your main record for admin decisions and investigations. It records both admin and user actions.
You can see events such as:
  • Rovo chats started
  • agents created, updated, or deleted
  • bookmarks created, updated, or deleted
  • third-party connectors created, updated, or deleted

To see the full list of tracked Rovo activities, visit the Rovo admin actions in the audit log activities database.

๐Ÿ‘‰ For example: The customer support team reports that since Friday, they have been unable to use Rovo from Slack. This could mean a connector was changed or removed. You can use the Audit log to find out what happened, who made the change, and when.
To troubleshoot the customer support teamโ€™s problem in the Audit log:
  1. Go to admin.atlassian.com and select your organization.
  2. From the sidebar, expand Insights.
  3. Select Audit log.
  4. Use the Date filter to view changes over the past 3 days.
  5. From the App filter, select Rovo.
  6. In the Activities filter, type Rovo admin actions, then select the Deleted 3P Connector connection, and then Apply.
๐Ÿ‘‡ Hereโ€™s how to use the Date and Activities filters in the audit log to see what happened with the Slack connector.

Access Rovo usage statistics with Analytics in Insights

Analytics shows how AI features (including Rovo) are being used across your organization over time.
Analytics helps you:
โœ” Monitor adoption trends for Rovo, answering questions such as, โ€œIs AI usage growing month over month?โ€
โœ” Compare sites (your Atlassian product instances) to see where Rovo adoption is growing and where it is not.
โœ” Identify low Rovo usage if active AI users are low compared to total active users, you can plan training or communications to increase Rovo adoption.
โœ” Identify active AI users who have used any AI feature at least once a month, so you know where Rovo is already embedded in your team's workflow.
โœ” Filter by date range and site so you can focus on specific time periods or AI-enabled sites (your Atlassian product instances).
๐Ÿ‘‰ For example: Aisha, Head of IT Operations, asks Leo, a Rovo org admin, to provide a yearโ€‘overโ€‘year view of AI adoption across the company. Leo needs to report the number of active AI users across all AIโ€‘enabled sites over the past 12 months, and whether the trend is increasing.
To view the number of active users over the past 12 months in analytics:
  1. Go to admin.atlassian.com and select your organization.
  2. From the sidebar, expand Insights.
  3. Select Analytics.
  4. In the Active AI users chart, choose the Last 12 months and all sites.
๐Ÿ‘‡ Here's how filters will display in the Active AI users chart.

If your Active AI users count is low compared to your total active users, consider running training sessions for specific teams to increase Rovo adoption.

Monitor organization usage with Platform usage

Platform usage lets you track how your organization uses platform resources. You can see which usage types are active and monitor usage over time, including your allowance, monthly average, and total usage. You can also break down usage by app and user, and manage extra billable usage such as Rovo Dev credits.
๐Ÿ‘‡ Click the boxes below to learn about the three usage types.

To learn more about usage types and limits on the Rovo usage quota, see Rovo usage quota in Atlassian Support.

To navigate to platform usage:
  1. Go to admin.atlassian.com and select your organization.
  2. From the sidebar, expand Insights.
  3. Select Platform usage.
๐Ÿ‘‡ This is how the Platform usage page displays usage metrics.

Explore Rovo credits usage

The Rovo credits page in Platform usage shows how your organization uses Rovo credits. It has three tabs: Usage, Apps, and Users. Each tab gives you a different view of usage.
Monitoring Rovo credit usage over time shows you how your organization is adopting Rovo. You can see which apps and users drive the most usage and use that information to plan training or future feature rollouts.
๐Ÿ‘‡ Click the tabs below to explore the tabs covering Rovo credit usage metrics.
The Usage tab shows overall credit usage trends, including monthly averages and usage charts. You can filter by timeframe and app.
๐Ÿ‘‡ This is how the usage tab displays data.

The Rovo Dev credits page appears if your organization is using Rovo Dev. The page works the same way. It has the same three tabs (Usage, Apps, and Users) but shows data for Rovo Dev credit usage instead of Rovo credits. Monitor the Rovo Dev credits page regularly to stay within your included allowance and identify unexpected usage before it affects your bill.
